About The Position
Printpack, a manufacturer of flexible packaging, is seeking a Press Assistant for its VR2 facility in Villa Rica, Georgia. The role supports press operations by preparing materials and equipment, assisting the operator, monitoring product quality, and maintaining the work area. The position offers $18.77–$28.15 per hour depending on experience, plus a $2.50-per-hour night-shift premium, which is included in overtime and double-time hours. The schedule is a 12-hour night shift from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on a 3/2 schedule. The stated long-term objective is to fulfill an operator position.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare raw material rolls for printing.
- Place rolls in the machine and prepare them for splicing.
- Assist in removing rolls from rewind.
- Remove and weigh startup rolls at the beginning of a job.
- Fill inks and maintain their viscosity.
- Change doctor blades and overfill pans.
- Remove and weigh waste from the machine's unwind and rewind.
- Empty refuse containers.
- Make waste bales when the baler is full.
- Assist the operator as needed to support efficient operation and monitor product quality.
- Prepare the preset setup of sleeves, mandrels, anilox, and inks.
- Perform daily housekeeping.
