About The Position

Phoenix Color, a company of Lakeside Book, is seeking a Pressroom Press Assistant 2 for their night shift. This role involves assisting in the setup and operation of the press, maintaining supplies, performing basic maintenance, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The position offers a starting pay range of $20.50 - $21.54/hr with a $1.00/hr night shift differential, and a pay grade range of $20.50 - $26.75/hr with the same differential. Potential performance-based pay increases are available at 3, 6 months, and during merit reviews. The shift is Monday-Thursday, 7pm to 7am.

Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for 12-hour shift and lift up to 60lbs
May be exposed to liquid chemicals or vapors
Ability to read and understand written instructions
High levels of attention to detail
Ability to work as a team
Mechanically inclined
Must be able to read a standard ruler

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Technical training with printing concentration preferred

Responsibilities

Assist in basic setup and operation of the press including loading paper, hanging plates, etc
Provide proper preparation and operation of the press to include application of ink, plates, blankets and inline solutions
Maintain supplies and chemicals needed to run press efficiently and to customers specifications
Perform assigned tasks to meet the production and quality standards for press operation.
Adhere to quality standards and assist the operator on monitoring the quality of work being printed.
Read and interpret job ticket instructions
Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping functions
Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned
