This role is responsible for inspecting the warehouse for unwrapped rolls, missing tappis, damaged rolls, and stacking. The Press Assistant will also check, fix, and re-tape outer wraps if needed on rolls, relabel, and cut down damaged product. They will assist the warehouse person as needed to prioritize receiving shipments and inspect paper rolls being received to ensure accuracy and that they are not damaged. Carton making as needed is also a responsibility. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work with limited supervision, and complete required tasks daily. Duties include shredding printed documents, cleaning up, sweeping floors and aisles throughout the scheduled shift, and assisting Press Service and Material handlers as needed. The role requires adherence to and promotion of all safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules, and hearing and eye protection policies. Other related duties and participation in special projects may be assigned. Employees are responsible for following the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual. Training will be provided to operate a fork truck, clamp truck, and walker/ryder.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous forklift experience highly preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in a printing environment preferred
  • Some experience in the operation of various hand tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspect warehouse for unwrapped rolls, missing tappis, damaged rolls and stacking
  • Check, fix and re-tape outer wraps if needed on rolls, relabel, cut down damage product

  • Inspect paper rolls that you are receiving to insure accuracy of product being received and not damaged

  • Shred printed documents, Clean up, sweep floor and Aisle throughout your scheduled shift
  • Assist Press service and Material handlers as needed
  • Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
  • Follow the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual
  • Will train to operate a fork truck, clamp truck, and walker/ryder
