About The Position
The PreSort Machine Operator is responsible for processing and sorting mail, operating presort equipment, and ensuring mail is prepared according to USPS regulations. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient mail operations while meeting quality and production standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customer mail using automated sorting equipment.
- Verify mail accuracy and assign mail to the correct customer accounts.
- Sort, tray, sleeve, tag, band, and palletize mail according to USPS requirements.
- Print tray labels and required USPS documentation.
- Upload electronic documentation (eDoc) and complete USPS data submissions.
- Assist USPS verifiers during mail acceptance and closeout procedures.
- Scan, palletize, shrink-wrap, and load mail for USPS transportation.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and equipment operation tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
