About The Position

Wood is recruiting for a Preservation Lead to join its Oil & Gas business focusing on the Operations Americas unit. This opportunity will be split in two phases: US based with rotations to Israel. Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. The Preservation Lead will supervise and lead the preservation team to a successful completion and injury-free project, including the oversight and assignment of duties for preservation technicians.

  • Planning and coordination of work within a simultaneous operations environment.
  • Technical expertise relevant to the design and operation of assigned systems.
  • Liaising with equipment engineers, equipment vendors, construction personnel, and operations team members.
  • Reading and interpreting P&ID’s, Piping Isometrics, and Production Flow Diagrams.
  • Understanding of operations and maintenance of production facilities.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, mechanical equipment, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Proficiency in report writing and records maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work System.
  • Ability to manage a team of technicians in the field.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards, standard safety procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Proven background, typically 10 years minimum in offshore Oil & Gas Completion and Commissioning activities in a preservation or maintenance role, preferably with offshore experience.
  • Proven Supervisory experience in a preservation/maintenance role in commissioning and construction projects.
  • Proficient written and oral English language communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, inspecting, and performing all activities associated with the Protection, Preservation, and Maintenance of equipment until turnover to the Operations Team.
  • Managing and updating the Master Preservation Register, reviewing preservation and maintenance records and logs throughout fabrication, integration, and commissioning phases.
  • Auditing the Contractor’s preservation plan.
  • Creating and maintaining a maintenance record per equipment and system for all preservation and maintenance activities.
  • Preparing job cards for Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning preservation activities.
  • Providing daily, on-site/in-field leadership, coordination, and management of a multi-discipline team of preservation commissioning engineers/technicians.
  • Identifying personnel and equipment resources necessary for preservation commissioning activities.
  • Ensuring work is carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures and the PTW system.
  • Analyzing work problems and making corrections.
  • Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with direct supervision and other departments.
  • Performing maintenance and preservation work as instructed with limited supervision.
  • Walking down systems using P&ID’s, Piping Isometrics, and PFD’s for guidance.
  • Writing quality punch lists with accurate descriptions.
  • Understanding and executing Woods’s Safety Policies and Procedures throughout all phases of the project.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
