About The Position

Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Tech Lead, this individual’s primary responsibilities include providing direct patient assistance services. This involves receiving and tracking PAP referrals, assisting patients with applications and documentation, maintaining communication with medical providers, processing and distributing medications, coordinating medical records, and maintaining the PAP database. The role also includes attending staff meetings, working cooperatively with other staff, adhering to clinic policies, and maintaining professionalism.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum two years’ experience in medical or human service setting.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Must acquire thorough familiarity with pharmaceutical companies and their respective patient assistance programs, including available medications, application procedures, re-application terms
  • Requires high level of organization, accurate documentation, and prompt follow-through on tasks and requested reports.
  • Must be able to work directly with patients in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
  • Able to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and with other clinic staff; ability to communicate effectively with persons of varying ages and cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and track PAP referrals from Clinic providers.
  • Assist patients in completing applications, compiling necessary supporting eligibility documentation, and following reapplication procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with Clinic medical providers, including obtaining prescriptions, signatures, medication releases, etc. necessary for application and reapplication processes.
  • Process and distribute incoming medications.
  • Coordinate retrieving medical records and copying of appropriate documents for patient files.
  • Maintain PAP database and other required clinic documentation and reports.
  • Attend staff meetings held during scheduled work hours.
  • Work cooperatively with other PCC staff to ensure effective communication, problem-solving, and service delivery.
  • Adhere to Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professionalism and ethical, client-centered interaction within the Clinic setting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
