About The Position

Root Causes Medicine is a patient-centered, terrain-based medical clinic focused on identifying and restoring the underlying causes of illness. We believe medicine should be relational, precise, and restorative. Our providers treat complex and chronic conditions through functional, integrative, and naturopathic oncology care. We are growing — and we are looking for someone who thrives in a mission-driven, high-touch clinical environment. We are seeking a Prescriber Assistant Specialist (PAS) to serve as the operational and relational extension of our prescribing providers. This role supports Nurse Practitioners, our Naturopathic Oncologist, and Medical Director by ensuring: Appointments are staged and flow smoothly Patients feel seen and supported Charts, labs, and prescriptions are organized and accurate Post-visit follow-through is handled efficiently This is not a passive medical assistant role. This is a proactive, detail-driven, emotionally intelligent position that helps protect both the patient experience and the provider’s ability to focus on high-level care.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant (MA)
  • 2+ years experience in a clinical setting
  • EMR experience (Cerbo experience a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with technology and task management systems
  • Dependable and professional
  • Able to multitask without sacrificing detail
  • Comfortable working closely with providers
  • Comfortable supporting patients with complex or chronic illness

Responsibilities

  • Prepare charts prior to patient visits
  • Build and organize new patient charts
  • Upload labs, reconcile medications, manage documentation
  • Room patients and take vitals
  • Assist with light in-clinic procedures (UA dips, strep tests, injections, etc.)
  • Maintain smooth provider schedule flow
  • Respond to portal messages within scope
  • Clarify provider instructions
  • Coordinate lab testing and follow-ups
  • Communicate with pharmacies, labs, and specialty vendors
  • Help de-escalate anxious or overwhelmed patients
  • Monitor provider inboxes and tasks
  • Prepare prescriptions for provider review
  • Track lab results and follow up as needed
  • Manage supplement or medication inventory (if assigned)
  • Coordinate shipments when required
  • Assist with scheduling when needed
