About The Position

Mercer Medicine is searching for a Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant for the Macon, Georgia clinic. The candidate in this position is expected to demonstrate the ability to multi-task by working with multiple patients, handling multiple phone calls to include appointment related calls, refills, referrals and authorizations. Display flexibility by working with different positions and in different departments as required. Responsible for EMR documentation, patient work up to include vitals, updating patient information and patient education. This candidate is expected to perform all other assigned task within the scope of their certification.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED.
At least six months of healthcare experience.
Current national CMA certification (for Certified Medical Assistant position).
Phlebotomy experience (required for CMAs, preferred for MAs).
Ability to use a computer for checking patients in/out, posting payments, and scanning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Experience with an electronic medical record system, preferably EMD and/or Athena.
CPR certification must be earned within 6 months of start date.

Nice To Haves

Current CPR certification is preferred.
Phlebotomy experience is preferred for MAs.
