About The Position

This position is responsible for providing pre-school services for children including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities and specialized programs. The role involves planning, developing, and teaching pre-school classes, preparing and maintaining records, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the childcare property.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. required
Two years experience teaching child development programs in a church or pre-school, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid state driver's license
C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
Health Card Certification
DCF Staff Credential
45 Hour DCF training (Required within first year of employment)
Level 2 background screening

Responsibilities

Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities.
Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside learning activities.
Organizes and supervises recreational activities; observes, monitors, and supervises children on the playground.
Ability to lift, hold, and carry children on a regular basis (up to 50 lbs.).
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Work is performed in a normal pre-school environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
