About The Position

The Preschool teacher provides quality care and instruction in a loving environment, striving to help each child grow mentally, socially and spiritually.

Requirements

• Practicing Catholic, faithful to the Magisterium and in good standing with the Catholic Church.
• High School Diploma
• Training and understanding of preschool education methods and subject areas
• Successful completion of the Diocesan Safe Environment process.
• FA/CPR

Nice To Haves

• BA in Education preferred.
• Catechesis of the Good Shepherd certification and Montessori Experience a plus.
• Two years of classroom experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to listen empathetically, make peace, and de-escalate
• Ability to calmly handle conflict and emotionally charged situations in the classroom and with parents.
• Demonstrated history of good judgement.
• Demonstrated aptitude for adaptability and flexibility.
• Ability to receive, understand, retain, and complete verbal and written tasks.
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
• Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well with people from a diverse variety of audiences.
• Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate instructional program including lesson plans, classroom preparation, assessment of each student’s performance, extended and enrichment opportunities, and supervision of students.
• Participate with teachers in morning prayer, faculty meetings, school events, and in-services.
• Attend all school functions, enrichment opportunities and activities.
• Create an environment that fosters a dynamic love for learning in the classroom and through all activities.
• Responsible for other duties as assigned.
• Follows Teacher Expectations checklist given at the beginning of the school year.
