About The Position

Magical Beginnings, an award-winning collection of Early Childhood Education Centers in Massachusetts, is hiring a Classroom Teacher for its Preschool wing. This role focuses on the development and education of preschool-age children (3-6 years old) in a nurturing, constructive, and education-first environment. The ideal candidate is a creative, positive, engaging team player who enjoys working hard with like-minded educators in a high-energy setting.

Requirements

  • EEC Teacher Preschool Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience
  • Daycare experience in a center-based, private, or public school setting
  • Flexibility to work an 8-hour shift within operating hours, including opening and closing shifts
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with children
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with co-teacher to prepare curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and monthly newsletters.
  • Keep parents informed via the Class Dojo app and classroom boards.
  • Provide a safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing classrooms.
  • Encourage children's participation through age-appropriate interactive activities.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness, including routine opening/closing tasks, wiping down toys, cleaning tables, vacuuming, sanitizing, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, and preparing the classroom for the next day.
  • Engage with students in free play, supervise outdoor time, assist with bathroom needs and diapering, assist with snacks and meals (preparing, heating, cutting food, opening containers), and assist with naptime.
  • Adhere to the school's structured schedules.
  • Track children's progress and complete assessments.
  • Maintain EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings.
  • Create a fun and safe learning environment for students.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents.
