About The Position

Orono Early Learning is hiring a preschool teacher to lead their own classroom with the support of an Assistant Teacher. This position is 34 hours per week and follows the school calendar, including summers, winter break, and spring break off. The program is NAEYC Accredited and holds a 4-Star Parent Aware rating, meaning the curriculum, assessment tools, and quality systems are already established. Teachers have scheduled planning time built into their workday to plan lessons and prepare materials. The Assistant Teacher works as a daily teammate, sharing responsibilities for the classroom.

Requirements

• A current Early Childhood B-3 teaching license from the Minnesota PELSB.
• Familiarity with Minnesota's Early Childhood Indicators of Progress.
• Warmth with children and families.
• Calm, positive control of a classroom.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tool.
• Experience working in a public school.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach fun, hands-on activities that help children grow socially and academically.
• Observe each child's progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Write progress reports for families twice a year.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences twice a year.
• Maintain friendly and regular communication with parents and caregivers.
• Participate in staff and family meetings.

• Salary range: $34,431 to $53,550 per year, depending on degree and experience.
