Flowers Early Learning is a high-quality preschool located in New Buffalo, Michigan, looking for a Preschool Teacher to serve classrooms with children ages 3-5. Preschool teachers are responsible for providing nurturing care, supervision, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children aged 3-5. This includes implementing the High Scope curriculum and social-emotional growth strategies like Conscious Discipline, conducting regular observations and assessments, and ensuring the classroom meets Head Start and Michigan childcare licensing requirements. Teachers also build child-focused partnerships with families to promote consistent developmental strategies and collaborate with coworkers and volunteers to maintain health, safety, and quality standards in classrooms.

Requirements

  • AA, or BA in Child Development or Early Childhood Education with 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Own reliable transportation.
  • Complete a physical examination.
  • Complete a comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check.
  • Complete a pre-employment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP).

Nice To Haves

  • BA degree in Early Childhood Education is required within 6 years of hire.
