About The Position

Stratford School, part of Spring Education Group, is an independent WASC-accredited private school in California serving students from preschool through 12th grade. Its educational program includes a STEAM-based curriculum recognized by the White House as a leader in early childhood STEAM education; it was also the first California school to earn the Carnegie Science Seal of Excellence for STEM.

The Preschool Teacher creates a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 3 to 5. The teacher fosters curiosity, builds confidence, and supports each child’s development through thoughtful, structured instruction. Teachers design and implement lesson plans using the provided curriculum as a guide and deliver a well-organized, enriching classroom experience.

Requirements

• 12 completed ECE semester units (or 18 quarter units), including coursework in Child Growth and Development, Child, Family, and Community, and Program/Curriculum; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Child Development.
• Prior experience in a preschool setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional, dependable, and flexible.
• Passion for working with young children.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to often carry and lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend.
• Ability to regularly hear and use clear vision, with or without correction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and implement a curriculum covering reading, writing, and math.
• Collaborate with other faculty and staff members.
• Communicate daily with parents or guardians.
• Maintain a well-organized and engaging classroom environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
