About The Position

Dayspring Academy, a high-performing charter school, is seeking dedicated individuals to join their educational family. The academy focuses on developing character-driven, culturally literate, lifelong learners who contribute to their community. They prepare students from Pre-K through 12th grade for future success through a world-class education infused with the arts in a collaborative and passionate learning environment. This specific position involves the general supervision, instruction, and management of a class of children aged 3 to 5 years old.

Requirements

Fingerprinted and pass a background screening process by the Clearinghouse.
Must pass the DCF background screening process.
Experience in working with learners; a commitment to teaching is essential.
45 hours DCF training.
Must have his/her CDA or be working towards it.
Experience in preschool education is required.
All VPK teachers must maintain their CDA and any necessary coursework determined by the Pasco Hernando Early Learning Coalition.

Nice To Haves

A degree in Early Childhood is preferred but required.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of learners at all times, including familiarity with emergency procedures and awareness of special conditions.
Communicate challenges, concerns, and solutions to the Director.
Provide and maintain an environment conducive to physical, emotional, mental, and social growth.
Prepare engaging, hands-on lesson plans aligned with monthly and weekly themes.
Manage classroom schedules and procedures, ensuring consistency in learning experiences.
Follow a posted schedule and utilize the Early Learning Coalition Assessment checklist.
Recognize and respect individual learner differences in talents, interests, and pace.
Treat learners with dignity and respect while fostering independence.
Consistently and fairly implement the school's chosen behavioral system.
Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
Keep rooms neat, orderly, and clean.
Attend all staff meetings and school programs.
Participate in recommended training programs and complete 25 hours of in-service annually.
Conduct parent conferences as needed, with prior review by the Director.
Demonstrate loyalty to the school.
Lead by example and train assistants to take on leadership roles.
Serve as the point person for the 3-4-year-old teaching team.
Ensure all activities in the Pre-VPK program are age-appropriate.
Oversee the completion of monthly and weekly assessments by assigned teachers.
