About The Position

As a Preschool Teacher at Primrose School of Evergreen in San Jose, California, you will provide a fun and safe environment for children ages 3 and 4 to discover new concepts with confidence. You will use the school’s daily schedule and research-informed curriculum to meet children at their individual levels and guide their learning through small-group instruction. The school provides curriculum plans, classroom resources and supplies, a co-teacher, a support teacher who covers daily breaks and planning time, and an Education Coach. The role also includes professional development and hands-on training. Pay is based on experience, with compensation of $23.00–$26.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 12 core Early Childhood Education units with a grade of C or better, including child development, child-family-community, and two curriculum classes.
Patience and a strong desire to love and nurture young children.
Ability to work on an iPad to enter children’s daily logs and write incident reports and messages to parents.

Nice To Haves

Work experience in a licensed childcare facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

Engage, interact with, and supervise children in positive ways that support their growth and learning.
Maintain a safe, attractive, and well-kept classroom that encourages children’s creativity, exploration, and decision-making.
Plan with the Education Coach and implement approved lesson plans and the daily classroom schedule using Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials.
Complete, supervise, and monitor ongoing evaluations of each child’s developmental needs.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and childcare regulations.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children’s development and classroom activities.
Use an iPad to enter children’s daily logs and write incident reports and messages to parents.
