About The Position

Boothby Therapy Services is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for a preschool program in Farmington, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports early childhood students, helping some of Maine's youngest learners build foundational skills in a supportive, team-based school environment. The position offers more support than traditional school roles, including a dedicated Service Delivery Manager for guidance and day-to-day support, a collaborative team environment with SLPs, OTs, PTs, and school staff, access to early childhood resources, tools, and strategies, and a focus on manageable workloads and educator well-being.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education (minimum)
  • Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in early childhood, preschool, or special education settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction to preschool students with diverse learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and developmental milestones
  • Use play-based, developmentally appropriate teaching strategies
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers (SLPs, OTs, PTs), and families
  • Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive early childhood learning environment
