About The Position
White Pine Elementary is seeking an energetic, motivated individual who enjoys working with children for a full-time Preschool Paraeducator position. This role involves assisting students with a variety of disabilities, aged 3 to 5 years old. The paraeducator will work with individuals or small groups to enhance academic learning, adaptive behavioral skills, and independent living skills, depending on the student's specific needs. This position requires assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students who may have physical, emotional, communication, and/or developmental delays. Responsibilities include supporting students with socialization, hygiene, personal care, toileting/diapering, medication administration, and some physical/occupational therapy activities.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or a minimum of 32 college credits or pass the ParaPro test.
- Ability to push or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds assisting students that utilize wheelchairs and students with adaptive equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to students with a variety of disabilities from ages 3 to 5 years old.
- Work with individuals or small groups to increase academic learning, adaptive behavioral skills, and independent living skills.
- Assist in the implementation of the Individual Education Plan.
- Work with students who may have physical, emotional, communication, and/or developmental delays.
- Assist students with socialization, hygiene, personal care, toileting/diapering needs, medication, and some physical/occupational therapy activities.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
