About The Position

Pleasanton Public Schools is seeking a caring, dependable Para Professional to support students and teachers in a positive learning environment. This is a full-time classified staff position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Patient, reliable, organized, and able to build positive relationships with students.
• Able to follow teacher direction, work as part of a team, and adapt to student needs.
• Willingness to meet any applicable district and state requirements for the assignment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children is helpful; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities, preparation of materials, and supervision of students.
• Provide individual and small-group support under the direction of the teacher and appropriate school staff.
• Help students follow routines, participate in learning, and develop independence.
• Support student safety, behavior, and communication while following district plans and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and communicate professionally with staff and families.
• Assist with other student support duties as assigned.
