About The Position

Young families are a core part of Fondren Church. Located in the vibrant, eclectic heart of Jackson, our church is a thriving community where families plant roots, grow, and flourish. The Preschool Minister at F/C has the huge opportunity to serve children from birth to 5 years old and their families as they find faith in Jesus and grow to express it in love. We are prayerfully seeking a new Preschool Minister to lead this vital ministry into its next season of growth. After 8 years of leading our ministry to children, our current Preschool Minister is transitioning into a part-time role in a different ministry within the church. We are expectant of a person who is as passionate about partnering with parents as they are about discipling children—a leader who is ready to build, innovate, and thrive within a community that values deep relationships and intentional, Gospel-centered discipleship. Our Preschool Minister will aim to make disciples of children through a caring, relational ministry style. The ability to connect with both children and parents will be essential toward that ultimate goal. As such, this person must be an effective, followable, welcoming leader who is able to build and grow a Preschool Ministry. This leader should be authentic and highly relational with their teams and ministry. A degree of administrative skill is necessary to oversee and coordinate the ministry. Our location, growing number of young families, reputation of a “great children’s ministry”, devoted volunteer teams, and vision to be “In the City. For the City” give the Preschool Minister an incredible opportunity to impact our city, our congregation, and this generation to experience and respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Preschool Minister oversees our Nursery (8 week olds-2’s), Preschool (3 to 5-year-olds), and Special Needs Preschool ministry programs.
