About The Position

Little Duckling is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead or Assistant Pre-School Teachers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will help create a nurturing, fun, and positive environment that promotes the development and well-being of three and four-year-olds while adhering to State licensing, Paths to Quality 4 & Accreditation standards, as well as Little Duckling policies, procedures, and Four Core Values of Love, Community, Social Emotional, and Distinction.

Requirements

  • Experience in early childhood education, particularly working with preschoolers is preferred. (CDA or degree required for Lead Teacher positions.)
  • Be energetic, fun, and proactive, with the ability to adapt to the needs of individual children and contribute positively to the team.
  • Ability to follow lesson plans, be flexible to adjust activities as needed, and think quick on your feet.
  • Dependable. Good attendance and reliability.
  • Patience working with preschoolers who are still learning to manage themselves and require consistency.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents and team members.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Create a Fun & Engaging Environment: Assist in building a classroom where children are excited to explore, learn, and interact with their peers. Bring enthusiasm and creativity to everyday activities!
  • Support Co-Teacher & Team: Collaborate with the co-teacher and other team members to create a cohesive and supportive environment. Help wherever needed and contribute to the overall success of the team.
  • Follow State Criteria & Standards: Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements, Paths to Quality standards, and Little Duckling’s specific policies and procedures.
  • Assist in Lesson Implementation: Help execute lesson plans and be flexible and adapt lessons to fit the needs and interests of individual children.
  • Promote Developmental Growth: Encourage physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth in children through engaging, hands-on activities and positive reinforcement.
  • Communication with Parents: Support communication with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress and experiences in the classroom.
  • Ensure Safety & Well-Being: Supervise children at all times, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for play and learning.
