About The Position

This position is accountable for participating as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team for eligible preschool-aged students. The purpose of the position is to determine student eligibility for preschool special education services.

Requirements

  • Valid PA Certification in School Psychologist K-12 required.
  • Master’s Degree in School Psychology required.
  • Experience working with preschool population preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and an ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible.
  • Ability and experience working as a member of a team
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies.
  • A valid PA driver’s license and access to an automobile required to travel throughout the county.
  • Ability to comply with the AIU Conduct Policy.
  • Current Act 114, Act 34 and Act 151 required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).
  • School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team for evaluations and reevaluations by selecting and administering appropriate assessment tools, reviewing provided documentation, and / or interpreting results to ensure accurate identification of students and maintain compliance with state and federal child find regulations.
  • Maintains required paperwork within established timelines, including Evaluation/Reevaluation Reports, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and all supporting documentation for each student on the assigned caseload by consistently completing, reviewing, and submitting all required documents according to mandated timelines and procedural expectations for documentation and record-keeping to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and to support accurate, timely, and legally sound service delivery for students.
  • Represents and promotes the AIU and Preschool Early Intervention by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships that effectively support families and advance student outcomes.
  • Remains current with new and effective practices, program procedures, laws and regulations by attending professional development to comply with Preschool Early Intervention program requirements.
