About The Position

As a Preschool Childcare Teacher at Guiding Hands, you will help care for children and provide a safe, loving environment that nurtures each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development. You may also assist in other classrooms while a classroom teacher takes a lunch break.

Guiding Hands Christian Academy and Childcare teaches about God and age-appropriate development, including social and emotional skills. The program uses the “Faith Stories” and “Frog Street” curricula with Conscious Discipline and is guided by the values of Family, Fun, Integrity, Compassion, and Learning.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Strong verbal communication skills and an upbeat personality; comfortable and effective speaking with parents.
• Energetic, nurturing, positive, and child-friendly personality.
• Initiative and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Create balanced lesson plans that are appropriate to children’s developmental levels.
• Document learning experiences through displays and pictures.
• Maintain positive informal and formal communication with families on a daily basis.
• Maintain a safe, comforting, and stimulating environment for all children.
• Facilitate and maintain childcare licensing standards.
• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in other classrooms while a classroom teacher is on a lunch break, as needed.
