Requirements

Previous experience in food service, cooking, or meal preparation — preferably in a childcare or school setting
Experience working with preschool or early childhood age groups preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and health codes
Current or ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certification
Warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with young children
Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced childcare environment
High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework a plus

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for preschool-aged children
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in compliance with health and food safety regulations
Float between classrooms as an assistant teacher, supporting lead teachers with daily activities and lesson plans
Supervise and engage children during mealtime, playtime, and structured learning activities
Foster a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages early childhood development
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration regarding children's needs and progress
Assist with classroom management, circle time, arts and crafts, and other developmentally appropriate activities
