Preschool Bus Driver
About The Position
Cadence Education is hiring a Preschool Bus Driver to safely transport preschoolers to and from school and help create a secure, positive, and enriching experience during each ride. The driver is responsible for vehicle inspections and upkeep, following applicable state requirements, monitoring children’s behavior, documenting concerns, and communicating with the director. The role also includes safely handing children over to authorized pick-ups, maintaining current certifications and paperwork, and participating in trainings, staff meetings, and parent events. The driver may also assist in teacher or assistant roles when needed. The position is located at 10216 Pflumm Rd in Lenexa, Kansas. The listed hourly pay range is $14.00–$17.70. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 21 years old.
- Meet all state preschool and bus driver requirements.
- Qualify under Cadence Education’s insurance underwriting standards.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities
- Safely transport children to and from school.
- Create a positive, child-friendly bus environment using appropriate music and positive language.
- Inspect the bus daily and ensure it meets state licensing and DMV standards.
- Maintain a clean and fueled vehicle and a professional appearance consistent with the dress code.
- Follow state rules and regulations to keep children safe during trips.
- Monitor children’s behavior, document concerns, and communicate them to the director.
- Greet authorized pick-ups and ensure children are handed off safely.
- Keep certifications, licenses, and paperwork current.
- Attend in-service training, staff meetings, and parent events.
- Assist with teacher or assistant duties when needed.
