About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy (www.rcahybrid.org) is seeking a Catholic part-time Preschool Assistant to assist in a classical and Catholic Preschool classroom for 13 hours per week in their Austin, TX Center. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required, as training will be provided. Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or equivalent, are a plus. The ideal applicant may have experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in their Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching their own children, or teaching in a classical or private school, though these are not required. RCA is a national organization offering tutoring in a Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Positions are hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. No additional vacation days are given, though accommodations are made for sick days as needed. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors are trained to provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship, and must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all appropriate sacraments. All staff complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching. Hours are Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Tutors must be willing to prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment. Mandatory training is required before working at the Center. All employees of Regina Caeli are required to have a clear background check.
