Full-Time Preschool Assistant Teacher- no nights or weekends
About The Position
Discovery Kidzone is seeking a full-time Preschool Assistant Teacher to join its early childhood education team. Starting November 1, 2026, or sooner, the assistant teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom where preschool-aged children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. No previous experience is required; training and ongoing support are provided. The role supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, helps maintain a safe and organized classroom, and contributes to a positive learning experience in collaboration with teachers and staff. The position does not require nights or weekends.
Requirements
- Interest in early childhood education and child development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patient, dependable, and positive attitude.
- Ability to create a warm and supportive learning environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to complete all required state licensing trainings.
Nice To Haves
- Previous childcare or preschool experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines and activities.
- Support children’s learning through play, art, music, storytelling, movement, and hands-on experiences.
- Encourage children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Foster positive relationships and help children develop confidence and independence.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions.
- Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials.
- Observe children’s progress and communicate daily updates with families as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow health, safety, and state licensing requirements.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to provide a positive learning experience.
