About The Position

The Classroom Aide supports teachers in creating a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role assists with classroom activities, supervision, daily routines, and helping children learn and grow throughout the day. How this role contributes to the Y’s mission: Support the lead teacher with classroom activities and daily routines Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and transitions Encourage positive behavior and help children develop social and learning skills Assist with setting up learning materials, toys, and classroom centers Help clean and sanitize toys, tables, chairs, and common classroom areas Greet children and families in a friendly and welcoming manner Communicate with teachers, families, and staff as needed Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and special events Complete basic classroom documentation and reports as assigned Follow all Y policies, safety procedures, and OCC regulations Perform other duties as assigned
