About The Position

The Presales Systems Engineer Intern works closely with Communication Systems Engineers who design radio communication solutions from concept through implementation to meet customer requirements. The role includes consulting with customers, developing technical strategies and proposals, coordinating solution design and planning, and providing technical support throughout the presales phase. Interns may also participate in solution implementation and take responsibility for technical aspects of assigned projects through system acceptance.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, with an expected graduation date on or after December 2027.
• Must be returning to school in Fall 2027.
• Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the United States; employer work-permit sponsorship is unavailable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with customers.
• Experience or knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking.
• Experience or knowledge of communications networks, including MPLS, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
• Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA, and/or Amateur Radio/HAM.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, product development, and project management to develop technical strategies and generate customer proposals presenting Motorola Solutions.
• Coordinate the design and planning of customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support throughout the presales phase.
• Contribute to coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal generation, and customer presentations.
• Engage in implementation of solutions as originally conceived.
• Take responsibility for technical aspects of assigned projects from award through system acceptance.
• Support implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing, and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers up to date on Motorola Solutions’ latest technology offerings and their relevance to customer needs.
