About The Position

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Presales Systems Engineer intern to work with Communication Systems Engineers who design radio communication solutions from concept through implementation. The team consults with customers to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs. The role works with sales, product development, and project management to develop technical strategies and customer proposals, and provides technical support throughout the presales phase. The intern may also participate in implementation activities through system acceptance. The position is based onsite five days a week, with preferred candidates living in Brentwood, Tennessee, or Alpharetta, Georgia. Travel is under 10%, and relocation is not provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, with an expected graduation date on or after December 2027.
• Return to school in Fall 2027.
• Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the United States; employer work permit sponsorship is unavailable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex topics to nontechnical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with customers.
• Experience or knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking.
• Experience or knowledge of communications networks, including MPLS, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
• Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA, and/or Amateur Radio/HAM.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales, product development, and project management to develop technical strategies and generate customer proposals presenting Motorola Solutions’ offerings.
• Coordinate the design and planning of customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support throughout the presales phase.
• Support coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal generation, and customer presentations.
• Participate in implementation of solutions as originally conceived.
• Take responsibility for assigned project technical aspects from award through system acceptance, including implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing, and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers informed about Motorola Solutions’ latest technology offerings and their relevance to customer needs.
