About The Position
The Prep Technician is responsible for preparing vehicles for the detailing or reconditioning process. This includes washing, documenting, and staging vehicles while ensuring cleanliness, organization, and accuracy before they move to the next phase.
Requirements
- Accurate documentation and vehicle intake procedures
- Timely and consistent vehicle preparation
- Clean and efficient prep area operations
- Careful handling and staging of all vehicles
- Communication of discrepancies or quality concerns
Responsibilities
- Photographing all incoming vehicles in accordance with the photo SOP
- Reviewing work orders and verifying the correct service type and notes
- Bagging and tagging all customer belongings found in vehicles
- Power washing and clay barring vehicles to remove exterior contaminants
- Following specific prep procedures based on vehicle condition and assigned services
- Keeping the prep bay clean, stocked, and well-organized throughout the shift
- Moving vehicles safely and parking them for the next step in the workflow
- Restocking towels, chemicals, and prep materials at the end of each shift
- Reporting vehicle issues or missing work order information to the supervisor
