About The Position

Performs operations to sand materials. Work on a variety of parts as assigned performing sanding operations for correct smoothness to ensure completion of work is to quantity and quality standards.

Requirements

• Ability to use pneumatic orbital sander (jitterbug).
• Ability to use glue and wood putty to fill cracks.
• Ability to sweep up wood dust.

Responsibilities

• Walk to staging area and slide unfinished wood frame to workstation.
• Lift frame to sanding table.
• Use pneumatic orbital sander (jitterbug) and apply light pressure to smooth out the wood frame.
• Use glue and wood putty to fill in cracks with a chisel and putty knife.
• Set down frame and slide to staging area.
• Sweep up any wood dust that wasn’t collected in the sanding booths at the end of the shift.
• May perform other duties/ special or non-routine assignments as instructed.
