The purpose of a PREP COOK is to prepare food items for upcoming restaurant service or banquet events. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware. The Prep Cook is responsible for storing food properly to prevent spoilage, preparing a variety of food items according to instructions, and recording food and storage temperatures. Tasks include washing, peeling, and cutting foods, portioning and wrapping food for service, weighing or measuring ingredients, and mixing salads. The position also requires receiving and storing food supplies, and the ability to read a BEO for banquet event preparation.
