The Prep Cook position at Salish Lodge & Spa is responsible for preparing daily preparation requirements according to specification sheets and maintaining par levels of necessary items. This role involves preparing new menu items under the direction of a supervisor, ensuring attractive and consistent presentations of food items (both buffet and plated), and interacting with line cooks to monitor quality, presentation, and consistency. The Prep Cook will also handle customer requests in a timely manner, set up, re-stock, maintain, and clean food preparation areas, and ensure presentation standards are met for all hot and cold items. Reading and interpreting recipes, conducting product inventories, and ordering/receiving product under supervisor direction are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the Prep Cook is responsible for team adherence to grooming, sanitation, and safe food handling standards, as well as all opening and closing kitchen procedures.
