About The Position

The St. James Hotel is seeking a Prep Cook to join their culinary team at Scarlet Kitchen & Bar. This role involves assisting the Chef in preparing and executing delicious meals according to seasonal menus, while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, contributing to exceptional dining experiences and a positive team atmosphere.

Requirements

Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and portion made from scratch foods for daily service
Follow State, Federal and Local food safety guidelines
Be able to follow recipes accurately, including changing quantities, of batched recipes
Ensure proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
Communicate effectively with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.
Daily preparation of orders as needed on the line.
