About The Position

Landmark Hotel Group is hiring a Prep Cook at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront. The role prepares menu items for hotel and banquet operations according to recipes, yield guides, and department standards. The position may be full-time or part-time, and requires schedule flexibility, including weekends and holidays as needed. The estimated pay range is $14.00–$15.00 per hour; the actual offer depends on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and location within Virginia.

Requirements

One year of experience as a line cook at a hotel or full-service restaurant.
Ability to obtain Food Handling and Sanitation Certification within four weeks of hire.
Commensurate or transferable skill set is of primary importance.
Good attitude and work ethic to support operating efficiency and established guest-satisfaction criteria.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

Set up workstations with required tools, equipment, and supplies according to standards.
Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Check the production schedule and pars, and establish priority items for the day.
Inform the Chef/Kitchen Manager of supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day's tasks.
Transport supplies from the storeroom and stock them in designated areas.
Begin preparation of items needed for scheduled banquet event orders.
Prepare menu items according to recipes, yield guides, and department standards.
Inform the Chef/Kitchen Manager of shortages before items run out.
