About The Position
Assists in preparing foods for the daily operation of the nutrition program.
Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds vegetables and fruits
- Follow the food production log to complete daily activities
- Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry, and seafood.
- Dip food items in crumbs, flour, and batter to bread them.
- Stir and strain soups and sauces.
- Prepare meat, pasta, seafood salads
- Weights and measures designated ingredients according to standardized recipes.
- Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator.
- Stores food in designated areas
- Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils, segregates, and removes garbage, and steam cleans or hoses garbage containers.
- Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Records food and supplies used in an inventory log
- Adheres to all health, sanitary, and safety regulations.
- Other duties may be assigned.
