About The Position

Assists in preparing foods for the daily operation of the nutrition program.

Requirements

  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds vegetables and fruits
  • Follow the food production log to complete daily activities
  • Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry, and seafood.
  • Dip food items in crumbs, flour, and batter to bread them.
  • Stir and strain soups and sauces.
  • Prepare meat, pasta, seafood salads
  • Weights and measures designated ingredients according to standardized recipes.
  • Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator.
  • Stores food in designated areas
  • Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils, segregates, and removes garbage, and steam cleans or hoses garbage containers.
  • Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
  • Records food and supplies used in an inventory log
  • Adheres to all health, sanitary, and safety regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
