About The Position

Old Town Tequila Factory is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to support our temporary breakfast operation and help prepare for the launch of our reimagined menu. This is a hands-on role for someone who values accuracy, freshness, organization, sanitation, and teamwork. As a Prep Cook, you will help transform ingredients into the building blocks of an excellent guest experience. You may also have the opportunity to learn new recipes and preparation methods as our culinary team develops and introduces the restaurant's next menu.

Requirements

  • Previous food-preparation or commercial kitchen experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen tools, food storage, and safe knife handling.
  • Ability to read recipes, measure ingredients, and follow instructions.
  • Food-handler certification, or ability to obtain one within the required timeframe.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, carry, bend, reach, and work in hot or refrigerated areas.
  • Availability for mornings, weekends, holidays, training, and potentially expanded hours following the restaurant relaunch.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily preparation lists accurately and efficiently.
  • Wash, cut, chop, slice, portion, measure, and prepare ingredients.
  • Prepare sauces, dressings, batters, garnishes, and other recipe components as assigned.
  • Support breakfast preparation and line-station readiness.
  • Follow recipes, portion specifications, and quality standards.
  • Properly label, date, store, cool, and rotate food using FIFO procedures.
  • Monitor ingredient quality and immediately report concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized preparation area.
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation, knife-safety, and equipment procedures.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, inventory organization, and waste reduction.
  • Communicate preparation status and product shortages to kitchen leadership.
  • Support Line Cooks and other kitchen team members during service when assigned.
  • Participate in training and preparation for the restaurant's new menu.
