About The Position

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing food for service according to menu plans and standardized recipes in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. This role involves working in a kitchen that prepares large quantities of food, monitoring inventory, and using kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies. The Prep Cook sets up the service line for all meals, prepares and serves food to residents, and ensures food is ready at specified times.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and understand English language
  • Possess simple mathematical calculations; add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Excellent team work skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Familiar with Health Department Regulations
  • Minimum 3 years working in the food service industry

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with the senior population preferred
  • Strong background in food production and line serving
  • Restaurant line cook experience preferred
