Bartolino’s, a family-owned restaurant in St. Louis for over 50 years, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cook. This role is crucial for setting up the kitchen for success by ensuring all ingredients and stations are ready for service. Requirements

  • Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred, but not required – we’ll train the right person
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Wash, chop, slice, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and specifications
  • Measure and portion ingredients for menu items
  • Prepare sauces, dressings, and other components ahead of service
  • Properly store food items and label them with dates to ensure freshness and food safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked prep area
  • Assist line cooks and chefs during service when needed
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues
