Bartolino’s, a family-owned restaurant in St. Louis for over 50 years, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cook. This role is crucial for setting up the kitchen for success by ensuring all ingredients and stations are ready for service. Requirements
- Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred, but not required – we’ll train the right person
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Team player with a positive attitude
Responsibilities
- Wash, chop, slice, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and specifications
- Measure and portion ingredients for menu items
- Prepare sauces, dressings, and other components ahead of service
- Properly store food items and label them with dates to ensure freshness and food safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked prep area
- Assist line cooks and chefs during service when needed
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues
