The Clinical Nurse Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Surgery Center. This role involves collaborating with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure the smooth functioning of the OR and Pre-op/PACU departments, monitoring and evaluating nursing care, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The coordinator will assist in implementing, delivering, and evaluating patient care services and the Center's goals/objectives, striving to exceed performance measurements set annually by administration. They will support change initiatives through effective communication, creating buy-in and understanding within the team. This position also involves coordinating the smooth functioning of the OR and Pre-op/PACU departments, ensuring maximum productivity and quality of patient care, and working with the Leadership Team to evaluate and ensure the implementation of patient care from admission to discharge, according to facility policy and procedure. The role requires monitoring and evaluating nursing care in relation to established standards and facilitating quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, state and federal regulations, and all facility policies and procedures. Collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager is key for preparing the department for licensure and accreditation reviews, promoting multi-disciplinary collaboration, and participating in the Quality Committee to facilitate the improvement of patient care. Establishing and maintaining effective communication and interpersonal relationships with physicians, associates, and other stakeholders is essential, as is protecting company assets and ensuring the proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Defining educational needs, supporting staff development activities, setting goals, and evaluating progress annually for all clinical teammates are also core responsibilities. The coordinator will work with the Clinical Manager on quality assurance and quality improvement plans, assessing the delivery of care and patient outcomes through various methods. They will assist physician and anesthesia personnel as needed, complete all teammate/patient event and variance documentation thoroughly and timely, and maintain attendance according to guidelines and facility policy. Notification for unscheduled absences or tardiness must follow departmental procedures, and maintaining certification requirements is mandatory.
