About The Position

This position involves leading, coaching, and managing a team of Premier Bankers/Advisors who focus on meeting the unique needs of mass affluent and business clients. The role represents leadership in the absence of the Region Director and regularly represents the Region externally in the Market. The position contributes to the overall leadership of the Region, including sales coaching and performance coaching, and may be responsible for leading Region meetings, projects, and initiatives. This role is a career pathway for the Region Director role across the Premier footprint, and relocation may be required as business needs dictate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, accounting, finance, banking, or equivalent education and related training or experience.
  • Minimum of six years of experience working with mass affluent clients dealing with banking, investments, financial planning, or lending or comparable experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of a broad range of personal financial planning/advisory and investment management/asset allocation concepts and understanding of retail credit and traditional retail bank products for the mass affluent market.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed minimum performance standards specific to investments and insurance.
  • A minimum of Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), FINRA Series 7, Series 66 or 65/65, and Series 24 registrations and applicable Insurance licenses (Life, Health and Variable) must be active and maintained, or must be obtained within 100-180 days of job entry date. Active FINRA licenses must be transferred within 60 days of job entry date.
  • Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant with 30 days of employment in this role, including new or transfer of registration, and applicable NMLS acceptable background check.
  • Ability to handle a complex level of tasks and priorities during the course of a business day; Possesses skill, ability and aptitude to deliver premier levels of industry-leading service, problem resolution, and advanced sales functions.
  • Demonstrated at least 5 years of leadership skills and abilities to lead a sales team to meet or exceed expectations in the areas of banking, investments, mortgage, insurance, and planning or comparable leadership experience.
  • TM must be open to relocation as business needs require.

  • Completion or enrollment in professional level certification programs such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Accredited Asset Management Specialist, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, Chartered Life Underwriter or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Completion of established management or career development program or banking school.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and manage a team of Premier Banker/Advisors.
  • Serve in the absence of the Region Director and collaborate directly with the RD to ensure Region success. May lead targeted initiatives and projects on behalf of the Region.
  • Maintain a talent management strategy that includes sourcing, developing, retaining and recruiting premier bankers/advisors; promoting an inclusive and diverse culture geared towards achieving revenue and production goals by acquiring and retaining mass affluent households. Responsible for leading and instilling Truist purpose, mission and values with their respected teammates.
  • Lead and coach premier bankers/advisors in general, advanced, and complex tasks related to relationship building as well as banking, investments, insurance, financial planning, and trust and fiduciary services. Commit to an ongoing development and review process with each direct report.
  • Ensure industry-leading service levels are delivered by Premier Bankers/Advisors and that they are meeting or exceeding individual production and growth expectations within deposits, lending, risk management, planning, mortgage and investments.
  • In coordination with and at times in absentia of the Premier Region Director, collaborate with various leaders in Truist (e.g., Market Presidents) and Internal Relationship Management (IRM) partners (e.g., Wealth Region Director, Complex Managers) who are designated to support client service and business development efforts (e.g., banking, mortgage, planning, investments, and insurance services) in a manner that promotes one team, client retention, relationship deepening and prospect referrals and executes on the enterprise IRM strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies. Responsible for ensuring that business transactions and practices of direct reports as well as in the individual’s span of control comply with all regulations and the Company Code of Conduct.
  • Participate in the ongoing implementation and development of the Premier Banking program, including processes, products, services and operating policies and procedures.
