About The Position

The PreK-8 Learning Center Teacher at Grace Christian Academy supports students with academic challenges and learning needs by providing differentiated instruction in a Christ-centered environment. The teacher supports students’ academic and spiritual growth, works with the Learning Center team and classroom teachers, monitors student progress, and communicates with families. This position is part-time.

Requirements

Professing believer in Jesus Christ with a strong Christian faith and lifestyle.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
Ability to articulate and integrate a biblical worldview in all aspects of teaching.
Affirm and communicate doctrine consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 revision and The Nashville Statement.
Proficiency in phonics instruction for struggling readers.

Responsibilities

Pull small groups of students to provide remediation and differentiated instruction in K-8 math and ELA.
Implement learning plans for students with diverse academic needs.
Apply appropriate accommodations to support student success.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure proper implementation of student accommodations.
Provide phonics instruction for struggling readers.
Work with the Learning Center team to plan and organize student support services.
Monitor student progress and collect data to inform instructional decisions.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and supports.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and support strategies.
Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into instruction and student interactions.
Model Christ-like behavior and foster spiritual growth in students.
Participate in school-wide spiritual activities and events.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and parents.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and records.
Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture.
