About The Position

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. The Ground Systems Support (GSS) organization is seeking a Predictive Maintenance & Analysis (PMA) Technician to help advance asset management best practices that ensure efficient, high-value decisions regarding the care and use of assets entrusted to the COMET contract.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid US Drivers License.
  • Certification and/or hands-on experience in one or more Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) technologies: IR thermography, vibration, ultrasound, motor testing, motion amplification, laser shaft alignment, or sUAS.
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical components of industrial equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, compressors, bearings, electrical circuits, switchgear, and controls).
  • Familiarity with CBM methodologies and related best practices required.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), especially MAXIMO.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to communicate findings clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
  • Capable of performing complex assignments without direct supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interactions with management and customers.
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and report technical information with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9000, or related Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
  • Ability to travel as needed; occasional airline travel may be required.
  • Appearance and grooming must not create safety concerns.
  • Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
  • Must maintain a professional work atmosphere through effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Performing condition-based monitoring and inspection activities (oil sample testing, infrared thermography, vibration and ultrasound data collection, motion amplification, motor circuit and PQ testing, laser shaft alignment, and sUAS operations).
  • Providing technical support for maintenance and operations, including troubleshooting, analysis, and repairs for critical assets.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment, coordinating calibration, maintenance, and 5S activities.
