About The Position

Wintermute is a leading algorithmic trading firm in digital assets, providing liquidity across major cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms, offering OTC trading solutions, and supporting blockchain projects and traditional financial institutions entering the crypto space. This role is part of the significant growth of Wintermute's US presence. The Prediction Markets Trader will be responsible for real-time monitoring and trading of prediction markets (e.g., Kalshi, Polymarket) across various categories like sports, upDown markets, elections, and weather. This is a greenfield project within Wintermute, offering significant freedom to build the system from scratch. The role requires a hands-on approach, improving the entire technology stack, and wearing multiple hats. Coverage for key events, including evenings or weekends, will be necessary due to heightened market activity.

Requirements

• Strong Python skills with 1-3 years of experience coding in Python (work, study, or personal projects)
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Demonstrated interest in prediction markets (personal trading, following developments, contributing to discussions)
• Owner mentality, focusing on the ultimate result (P&L, business growth, partnerships)
• Love problem solving and seeing products work
• Willingness to do whatever it takes (trading, coding, analyzing data, collaborating)
• Determined, ambitious yet humble, willing to work hard and learn
• Appreciation for meritocracy and being judged by delivery
• Enjoy working in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and trading prediction markets in real time across Kalshi, Polymarket and other venues
• Implementing strategies across categories such as sports, upDown markets, elections and weather
• Improving the whole stack for the prediction markets system
• Providing coverage for key events, which may fall on evenings or weekends
