About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Preconstruction Team Lead to join their management team. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the team that conducts comprehensive technical and legal vetting of potential real estate assets, as well as preconstruction design and design project management. The position involves managing the systematic identification of site constraints, regulatory hurdles, and infrastructure requirements for assets targeted for lease and subsequent tenant build-out. The goal is to ensure a seamless, financially transparent, and de-risked transition from site selection to construction commencement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or applicable bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience working in a construction management role in the construction industry ideally for a real estate developer.
  • Strong organizational and management skills – the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Bluebeam , and construction project management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Technical Asset Evaluation & Feasibility teams (Site Analysis, Feasibility Reporting & Build-out Compatibility)
  • Manage the Regulatory & Entitlement Oversight Teams (Jurisdictional Review, Permit Strategy & Environmental & Legal Compliance)
  • Manage the lease Integration & Work Letter Negotiation Teams (Linguistic Precision, Financial Safeguards)
  • Manage Strategic Vendor Management Teams (Consultant Procurement, Quality Assurance, SOX control)
  • Provide effective line management for the staff members assigned, including coaching and mentoring for professional and career growth.
  • Leadership of design project management team responsible for initial design of infrastructure projects in United States and Canada.
  • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
