About The Position

Noblis MSD Fleet Introduction Project provides Pre-Commissioning (PRECOM) support to ship's Prospective Commanding Officers, Executive Officers and Department Heads for administrative and technical services. Fleet Introduction work is performed in an integrated support team environment that includes government and Noblis MSD teams that work closely with PMS 339, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), Huntington Ingalls Industries shipbuilder, and the ships' crewmembers. Candidate will provide Deck Operations and Aviation Support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years of relevant experience (preferable with Navy destroyers (DDG), amphibious Landing Platform Dock (LPD) and/or the amphibious Landing Helicopter Assault (LHA) naval platforms).
  • Must have a Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must have experience in DECK operations and be knowledgeable of US Navy operating, certification, training and administrative procedures.
  • Must be able to physically maneuver on board US Navy ships including accessing high and confined spaces and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience with the MS Office suite of software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Former Boatswain's Mates (BM) and Aviation Boatswain's Mates (AB) are encouraged to apply!
  • Senior enlisted DECK personnel with any Search and Rescue (SAR), small boat operations and ship aviation facility experience is desirable.
  • Boatswain's Mates (BM) and Aviation Boatswain's Mates (AB) are preferred source ratings.
  • Understanding of drawings and blueprints to support ships force.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and assistance with SUPSHIP, Ships force, PMS 339, and Surface Force Type Commanders in fleet requirements not reflected in build requirements. This will require in-depth knowledge of building contracts, ship specifications, and all fleet requirements.
  • DECK Operations Support includes; Limited Training Teams (LTTs), Crew Certification (CREWCERT) events, Afloat Training Group (ATG) and Immediate Superior in Charge (ISIC) visit coordination and working with the crew regarding any waterfront requirements (before and after Crew Move Aboard).
  • Provide ship checks as requested by PMS 339, ATG, and Ships Force.
  • Assist with administrative program reviews and implementation IAW ATG Afloat Self-Assessment (ASA) check sheets.
  • Assist deck department with equipment inventory and validation as requested.
  • Assistance with ship deck stations configuration and verification through specifications and drawings.
  • Perform research in support of deck ships force requirements.
  • Assist with aviation support as requested.
  • Assistance may be required for all ship force departments.
  • Candidate will need to multi-task and organize services and deconflict competing priorities.
