About The Position

Vermont Precision Tools, Inc. is seeking a skilled Precision Metalworking Gage Handle Machine Operator for their Made to Order Value Stream. This role involves operating and troubleshooting CNC lathes, bar feed, facing and polishing equipment, and 3D printing equipment to produce gage handles and accessories. Requirements

  • Understanding of basic CNC programming to utilize existing programs for setting up production runs and making modifications as necessary.
  • Ability to inspect in-process products and final inspect for visual and dimensional criteria.
  • Ability to input basic data entries using computer programs on daily basis.
  • Must maintain filtration system levels.
  • Required to log out tooling and critical production supplies from tool crib.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC lathes, bar feed, facing and polishing equipment, and 3D printing equipment.
  • Familiarity with ASME B47.1 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Producing quality handles that meet established ASME B47.1 standards.
  • Understanding basic CNC programming for setting up production runs and making modifications.
  • Monitoring part conformance based on work order instructions and adjusting manufacturing equipment.
  • Pulling and preparing aluminum bar stock for production.
  • Wet belt sanding all handles and end caps.
  • Inspecting in-process products and final inspection for visual and dimensional criteria.
  • Performing packaging and administrative duties associated with product preparation for shipping.
  • Remaking and/or reworking products that do not meet required specifications.
  • Maintaining quality production in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintaining filtration system levels.
  • Logging out tooling and critical production supplies from the tool crib.
  • Inputting basic data entries using computer programs on a daily basis.
  • Performing other duties as required.
  • Adhering to all company workplace policies, ergonomic standards, and safety requirements, including the use of authorized PPEs and LO/TO processes.
