About The Position

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Precision Machine Operator for our 2nd shift operations in the Lathe department working full-time Monday- Thursday and may require working on Friday based on workloads. Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.

Requirements

Minimum of one-year work experience in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to interpret engineering prints and job notes.
Ability to perform a variety of machining operations to close and interrelated tolerances.
Ability to repetitively load and unload parts into machine(s).
Ability to inspect and document tolerances from engineering prints throughout entire part run.
Ability to thoroughly clean and deburr parts according to Urschel specification.
Ability to perform any other necessary task to complete the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

Operation of Star CNC Swiss-type Automatic Lathes to machine parts from bar stock.
Uses various types of precision measuring instruments and gaging to verify and document inspections.
Performs all necessary tasks required to complete the process.
Interpret engineering prints and job notes.
Perform a variety of machining operations to close and interrelated tolerances.
Repetitively loads and unloads parts into machine(s).
Inspects and documents tolerances from engineering prints throughout entire part run.
Thoroughly cleans and deburrs parts according to Urschel specification.
Performs any other necessary task to complete the manufacturing process.
