As a Precision Inspector, you'll be the final line of defense, ensuring that raw materials, components, and fully assembled units meet exact specifications before they move forward. If you have a sharp eye for detail, steady hands, and take pride in catching what others might miss, this role puts you at the heart of our quality promise. You'll work across multiple critical areas, including: Heavy Machining Fabrication, Pressure Vessel Welding, Rotor and Motor Shop, EP AT Speed Balance, SVP Quick Action & SVP Kit Box, and other areas as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to and willing to work 1st (7am–3pm), 2nd (3pm–11pm), and 3rd (11pm–7am) shifts. Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to realignment.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders, assembly and detail drawings, quality plans, special instructions, inspection specs, process and material specifications, standard procedure instructions, bills of material, purchase orders, shipping papers, and other documents as required.
  • Obtain and use necessary tooling, gaging, fixtures, and inspection equipment.
  • Set up inspection routines for raw materials, parts, and assemblies.
  • Perform first-piece, 100%, final-piece, sub-assembly, and finished assembly inspections.
  • Patrol operations following established sampling plans.
  • Check and record alignment and clearances of sub-assemblies and assemblies.
  • Conduct leak testing.
  • Perform non-certified nondestructive examination (NDE) including dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection as directed.
  • Maintain records manually or electronically.
  • Collect and record specific data for analytical purposes.
  • Identify, describe, and sketch non-conformances (NCRs).
  • Follow procedures to control and process non-conforming items, including obtaining and defining salvage procedures.
  • Document and report any irregularities or problems not covered by standard procedures, specs, or instructions.
  • Work directly with customer representatives while witnessing inspections, tests, and documentation reviews.
  • Disassemble, assemble, stamp, grind, and clean items as related to inspection.
  • Inspect packaging, crating, and loading of outgoing materials.
  • Operate crane, forklift truck, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping—keep tools, materials, and equipment clean, protected, and in proper place.
  • Keep your work area clean.
  • Observe all plant and safety rules.
  • May be required to wear a portable communication device.
